| R & S Rolling Ranch "Registered Haflingers" |
| Carrie Skogen and Amanda Mullooly, sisters, have had an awesome year. We traveled to many open shows and clinics throughout the show season. We started out the year with The Midwest Horse Fair. Carrie rode a 5 year old Haflinger gelding, Mic Mac WULF. They performed very well riding Huntseat together. Amanda and a good friend, Kelly Rygh, rode their Western Pleasure Haflingers, Stryder and Steinhof. All three of the girls did an excellent job on their performances. In July, we went to our traditionally 4th of July Horse Show, in Shopiere. Samantha, Amanda's two year old daughter, took first place, out of four, in Lead Line, with her aunt Carrie and Sam's horse Jerry. Amanda and Carrie both showed Haflingers at the Open Show and did very well competing. With superior performances in July at the Rock County Fair, both girls qualified for the State 4-H Horse Show. Amanda and Carrie showed Haflinger geldings, "Stryder" and "Jerry." Amanda and Carrie competed in Pony Saddleseat/Huntseat Showmanship where Amanda received Grand Champion and Carrie's dreams came true when she received Reserve Champion. Carrie and Jerry really clicked that day! Amanda was awarded with Top Tens in Pony Western Showmanship, Pony Western Pleasure and Pony Western Equitation. Carrie received Top Tens in Pony Saddleseat/Huntseat Equitation. Skogen's Haflingers ended the year with a clinic at Iron Gate Farms. Amanda took "Stryder" and Carrie took Mic Mac WULF. They both did excellent performances and really showed what their Haflingers could do. There were also demonstrations by people and on Sunday the clinic ended with a parade of Iron Gate's Haflingers. This was a fun experience and all of us learned a lot. What a great way to end the year. The Midwest Horse Fair, 4th of July Open Show, State 4-H Horse Show and a clinic at Iron Gates Farm are just a few places that we traveled to this year. This winter Amanda and Carrie will be taking Haflingers, that they are training, to Bounds Showtime Arena, where they will be showing in a whole bunch of different classes. |
